Sittingbourne is in north Kent, between the Medway Towns and Faversham, close to the Swale and the Isle of Sheppey. It is a long way from Heathrow, on the opposite side of London. The drive takes in the M25, the Dartford Crossing and the M2, and public transport means crossing central London with your luggage. A taxi from Heathrow Airport to Sittingbourne ME10 costs from £159 for a saloon, fixed at booking, and takes you straight home.
Around the M25 and down the M2
From Heathrow, the driver usually takes the M25 clockwise round the south of London to junction 2, then the A2 and M2 east past the Medway towns to junction 5, and the A249 north into Sittingbourne. Alternatively, depending on traffic, the driver may cut through London on the A4, A205 and A2, which is shorter in miles but much slower at busy times. It is around 75 miles by the motorway route.
Plan on an hour and twenty to thirty-five minutes in normal traffic. The M25 between Heathrow and the M23 and the stretch approaching the A2 can be slow at peak times. The M2 is usually steady.
Around ME10
ME10 covers Sittingbourne town centre and the High Street, Milton Regis to the north, Kemsley and the new developments along the Swale, and the residential areas of Murston, Bapchild, Tunstall and Borden. The Kent Science Park and the business parks around Eurolink are also in the area. For the newer estates around Kemsley and Iwade, some roads may not yet be on every satnav; add a nearby landmark if your home is new.
We also cover the Isle of Sheppey, across the Sheppey Crossing: Sheerness, Minster, Queenborough and Leysdown. Put in the exact address and the fixed price appears straight away.
Public transport from Heathrow
There is no straightforward rail link. The usual route is the Elizabeth line into central London, then a Southeastern train from Victoria or St Pancras to Sittingbourne. With connections, it takes around two hours, often more. For a solo traveller with a small bag, that is cheaper. For families, travellers with heavy luggage, or anyone landing late, the car is much easier, and the fixed fare is competitive for three or four people.
Heathrow terminals and meet and greet
Heathrow's terminals are in three places: 2 and 3 in the centre, 5 at the western end and 4 on the southern side. Tell us your terminal when you book. A name board in the arrivals hall and live flight tracking come with every pickup. If your flight is delayed, the pickup moves at no extra cost, and the time spent at passport control and baggage reclaim is included.
Heathrow's drop-off charges
For your next departure, if someone drives you to Heathrow privately, they will pay £7 per entry to a terminal drop-off zone, with a ten-minute limit and an £80 penalty for overstaying, as of January 2026. The free option is the Long Stay car park, which gives 30 minutes free. With us, the fixed fare covers it.
Gatwick is closer
For many short-haul flights, Gatwick is easier from Sittingbourne: around 60 miles via the M2 and M25. If your flight is from Gatwick, the booking form will give you a lower fixed price.
Business travel
Sittingbourne's business parks and the Kent Science Park have international visitors who fly through Heathrow. Our executive saloon offers a quieter ride, and business accounts get monthly invoicing with references for each journey.
Families and holiday luggage
For families flying home from a long-haul holiday, choose a car that fits the luggage. An estate takes four large cases, and an MPV takes a family of six with bags. Child seats are free; give us the children's ages when you book.
Late arrivals
Many long-haul flights land at Heathrow in the evening. By the time you are through passport control, the trains back to Kent via London are thinning out. A pre-booked car is waiting whatever time you land, and the fixed fare is the same at night.
What to tell us when you book
Give us your flight number and terminal, the full address with postcode, the number of passengers and large cases, and a mobile number that works when you land. If someone is getting out on the way, perhaps in Rochester or Gillingham, add it as a stop and the fixed price includes it.
